Seems that a Baptist church has fired a woman Sunday school teacher - after having taught successfully for 54 years - because SHE'S A WOMAN!!!!! According to the article, the person responsible for her firing took one sentence out of the Bible and used that as his reason. Isn't it funny how what some term "Sacred" really means, "That which I will use to promote my own agenda." Wonder what this man's mother must think of him. I couldn't read the story as I do not have a comcast account anymore, but I think the church is quoting the Bible’s First Epistle to Timothy, which states: “I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent.”
Ah, the bible, full of wit and wisdom written by men who were threatened at every turn by...anything! Women, disease, women, earthquakes, women, etc.
Now in these enlightened days we have unenlightened men reading and quoting from the "Good Book".
I wonder how many can quote chapter and verse without even knowing what the passages really mean?
